The department provides student-centered teaching and learning in conducive atmosphere that helps the students to gain confidence in their nursing knowledge and skills. The department is concerned with training the students in developing the knowledge and skills required to respond to health care needs of infants and children and their family in a variety of settings. Importance is given to the evidence based practice and safeguarding the health of child and the family. The courses offer the students the opportunity to identify the needs of children and provide comprehensive care.

In order to augment the knowledge and skill of the students are given clinical experience in Pediatric Medical and Surgical wards at Bapuji Child health institute and reserch centre. apart from theory classes. The students also have the dispensation of becoming familiar with the most sophisticated equipment and technology allied to client care, especially in our Paediatric Cardiology, Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Units. Bapuji College of Nursing proposes the post graduation in Child Health Nursing besides this, it set up the students to extend expertise and in-depth indulgent in the field of Pediatric Nursing. It will facilitate students to appreciate the child as a holistic individual and build up skill to function as Neonatal and Pediatric Nurse specialist. It will further enable the student to function as educator, manager, and researcher in the field of Paediatric Nursing.

The Department is involved in Research areas such as Nutrition and Health behavioral problems of children, Neonatal Jaundice, pain among Infants, development of Nursing Care Protocol.
